YOUR GB TEAM FOR FIME EURO PAIRS FINAL!
GREAT BRITAIN boss Olly Allen would love to end the season on a high in the FIME European Pairs Championship. The national side take on hosts Poland, Czechia, Italy, Latvia, Denmark and Finland in Grudziadz at 4:00pm this afternoon.
Allen has stuck with the same young trio of Will Cairns, Cooper Rushen and Luke Harrison that came through the Semi-Final in Macon, France.
He said: “It’s a super-tough line-up packed with SGP and SGP2 experienced riders.
“We always go to any event seeking a medal. That is a big ask for the boys but they have been nothing short of sensational all season.
“The main thing is that they get experience of racing at this level.
“The progress made by Will, Cooper and Luke this season has been incredible. It’s a huge compliment to them that they have been picked but it’s also deserved.
“I’ve got nothing but good things to say about all three of them. They have all tackled all sorts of adversities in huge meetings this season. It’s so easy to forget that Luke is just 19, Will 17 and Cooper 16.
“Will has reached SGP2 and races in the Premiership Grand Final as a Rising Star after winning two trophies with Poole in the Championship.
“Cooper finished fourth in the British Final and won the Championship and BSN Series with Poole plus moved up into the main body of the King’s Lynn team.
“Luke has had a terrific first season in the Premiership with Northampton and reached the Championship Grand Final.
“They are showing so much promise and we’re excited to see how they deal with a big FIME event once again.”
